Corvette Zr1

When you work in auto, one car that stands above the rest. For me, it’s always been the Corvette. The mid-engine masterpiece, a supercar that every kid had in their Hot Wheels collection — it’s awesome. With the fastest, most powerful Corvette ever built being… well, built, I had the opportunity to figure out how we revealed it to the world. We revealed this marvel of speed and performance in July, and it was an all-out assault on social with a mix of static carousels, IG stories and videos combined with a ton of earned coverage. We followed it up with a more documentary-style piece to announce the ZR1’s top speed. It was the perfect mix of scrappy, social-centric content and polished, dramatic storytelling that comes with Corvette.

Supplementary content

There’s a lot of buzz that comes with a reveal, and keeping the drum beat going requires content that resonates. We kept ZR1’s story going for weeks after reveal.

TOP SPEED ANNOUNCEMENT

With a two-man crew in Germany at ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg GmbH, we took a fly-on-the-wall approach to telling the top-speed story as we captured GM President Mark Reuss pushing the Corvette ZR1 to its limit — 233 MPH.
